The story began with a 5-week journey in a 1997 RV, from Richmond, Va to Utah and back, July 23 through August 27, 2011. The next step included the sale of that RV and the purchase of a larger, classier RV we call Princess. Now we have changed RVs again. We sold the Princess to a family of 5, and purchased a 2017 Class C, smaller than the Princess but some better features as well as some limitations storage wise. And so our adventures continue.

LATEST TRAVEL OVER
We are home after being away 2 months and 10 days this time. It was a good trip, but we are happy to be safely home, especially after a 13 hour drive yesterday from Murfreesboro TN to Midlothian Virginia. Included in that 13 hour drive was a 1-hour backup in Knoxville because of a serious accident involving 4 cars and a tractor trailer, 2 stops for fuel and 3 rest area stops. Neither of us got to bed until sometime after midnight, but since our body clocks are on central time we still didnt sleep in. Today we are unloading everything from the RV, food, clothing, electronics, etc., leaving only the essential RV items in the RV. Lots of laundry to do, then grocery shopping, but not today. There must be time to rest after unloading. Steven invited us over for dinner so I don't have to think about that today...yea!

Fun in Murfreesboro
We have enjoyed our time with Jerry & Heidi, playing Mexican Train, Left Right Center, and Oh Hell. We took a ride into the countryside to visit an Amish store and bought a few things there.
Yesterday we went for Brunch at an old Mill in Readyville, TN. The food was fabulous and plentiful, the scenery very beautiful and rustic, and only 30 minutes from their house.

Visiting Jerry & Heidi
We are visiting Jerry & Heidi in Murfreesboro, TN for a few days. When we arrived yesterday, Gus ran around the yard like a crazy dog who just got his freedom after being jailed for many weeks. He tried to play with their dog Casey, but Gunner, their other dog didn't like that and did his best to stop it. Otherwise the dogs get along fine.
We will be here until Saturday and then head towards home.

Heading North
We left Gulf Shores this morning in pouring rain, and headed north toward Tennessee. Our stop tonight will be outside Birmingham at Oak Mountain State Park. We have driven through Hank William's home town and past the Hank Williams Museum just off I-65. Maybe one day we will stop and visit it, but today it is enough of a struggle to keep the RV on the road with 15-20 mph winds.
