Some photos from the grounds of the museum.
The story began with a 5-week journey in a 1997 RV, from Richmond, Va to Utah and back, July 23 through August 27, 2011. The next step included the sale of that RV and the purchase of a larger, classier RV we call Princess. Now we have changed RVs again. We sold the Princess to a family of 5, and purchased a 2017 Class C, smaller than the Princess but some better features as well as some limitations storage wise. And so our adventures continue.

Wednesday, August 29
Today was grocery day, first Aldi's and then Wegmans in Geneva, with a stop at the beautiful Welcome Center with views of Seneca Lake. Late afternoon we went to Ventosa Winery for Happy Hour and a light dinner of salads and pizza, all very delicious. An acoustic guitarist entertained us beginning at 6 pm. It was a great evening with friends, although we missed Kat who stayed "home" nursing a viral infection in her ears, nose, throat.

Tuesday August 28
Taughannock Falls was our first outing of the day. After a bite to eat in the park, we moved on to visit Finger Lakes Distillery for a tasting, then a stop for tomatoes & peaches at a roadside stand, and finally a visit to Wagner Winery and Brewery for some tastings. We also replaced Jim's Beeriodic Table t-shirt sold there. Hopefully he won't set this one on fire.
Back at camp everyone took their dog for a much needed walk, then rested for a while before dinner (except Neil who then went for a bike ride for about an hour). The day was capped off with grilled steak, baked potato and corn on the cob, with cookies for dessert.

Watkins Glen State Park
Even with part of the walkways closed off at Watkins Glen, We were able to see much of the glen, including 11 waterfalls. It was quite beautiful. We did have to climb down and up almost 300 steps, and my watch said I had gone up and down the equivalent of 13 flights of stairs. So glad we visited there. Last week there was so much rainfall there that the water supply was affected as well as parts of the trails that are now blocked off until they can be repaired.
Evening Music and Moon
The campground had some Saturday evening entertainment for all in the form of a band that played rock music mostly from the 50's through the 80's. The musicians were very talented with the instruments, but less so with their voices. It was still fun to listen to while enjoying the sight of the moon, almost full.

Saturday, August 25
The guys and girls went separate ways today until lunchtime. The guys went to the Curtis museum in Hammondsport and enjoyed several hours learning about Curtis and his impact on aviation. The girls stopped at a wine shop, then Bully Hill Winery before meeting up with the guys for lunch in Hammondsport. We all then went to a small Farm Market where they sell meats and cheeses produced from their own animals. We picked up several cheeses and some fresh sausage to take back to camp, then headed "home" to take care of the dogs. The girls are now getting some laundry done.
Letchworth State Park
Although it wasa long drive to get there from Campbell, N Y we were glad we visited this park. From the upper falls to the middle falls to the lower falls and the canyon beyond the views were spectacular. It is no wonder this park has been voted top park.

Thursday, August 23
Moving day...from Keuka Lake State Park to Camp Bell in Campbell, NY, west of Corning. We are here for 4 days. It's a tight fit but we are all together. It's a beautiful day and tomorrow promises more of the same. Since we already visited the Corning Museum, we have time to do other things, and yet still not enough time to fit it all in before moving on.
Wednesday, August 22
This was a beautiful day for some trail hiking along the river to waterfalls.
Our first stop was Seneca Mills Falls, about a half mile hike from a parking lot along Keuka Lake Outlet Trail. There used to be a mill on this spot but only some of the foundations are left. The second falls, Cascade Falls was further along the trail and about a mile from the nearest parking area. We definitely got our exercise this day. Pictured are Kat & RuthAnne and myself, then the guys' backsides, and a cute one of Neil & Kat.
Keuka Lake State Park
We stayed 4 nights in site 108...decent site. Neil & Kat were in site 110 and Don & RuthAnne were in site 112...all good sites considering the amount of rain and thus mud everywhere. The sites were grassy with some gravel.
Time to treat ourselves
After a simple lunch at a local dinner, we made a stop at Spotted Duck, east of Penn Yan, to enjoy a flight of 4 flavors of frozen custard...so good! It's made with duck eggs instead of chicken eggs and well worth the stop.

Tuesday, August 21
A brewery, a distillery, and 3 wineries were visited today by our crew of 6. We started out at 10:30 and arrived back at camp around 4 pm....dealt with some showers but not enough to deter our exploration of the western side of Keuka Lake. After a dinner of leftovers, we enjoyed a lively game of Mexican Train in Kat and Neil's RV.
