Kayaking on the Gulf side

The waters on the Gulf Side of Bahia Honda were calmer today so we launched the kayaks from our site and paddled along the shores of the island, in and out of inlets. As we approached the bridge at the end of the beach, the waters got rougher and the winds picked up so we opted wisely to turn back.  Now we were headed into the wind and against the tide, so we actually had to work a bit.  When we had enough paddling, Jim felt it best to land in the Marina instead of at our site since there is a lot of coral and rock where we launched...probably a good idea. The ocean side was still quite windy with choppy waters but hopefully sometime this week will bring calmer seas so we can kayak that side.
