Saturday we spent the afternoon walking in the market square among the many vendors selling their wares. There were a few musicians playing & singing in the streets and the occasional human statue. We topped it off with a visit to the dessert bar where we had drinks and cake. Later we drove out to Foley Beach to see the lighthouse and watch a bridal couple get their pictures taken on the beach. On the way back to camp we stopped at a seafood market to buy 2 lbs of shrimp for dinner. In the evening we enjoyed shrimp and a game of Mexican Train.
Yesterday Neil & Kat headed home while Jim and I spent time with Gus at the dog park and then relaxing for a few hours before driving up to Neil & Kat's for a delicious steak dinner and a dip in their new hot tub.
Today we are headed home to Midlothian. It will be a long drive but we will take our time. We are still waiting to hear news on Jill Anderson who is now in hospice care. Our hearts ache for Denny & Sharon, who are helpless to do anything except watch their daughter die. As tough as it was for us to lose our own daughter 17 years ago, at least we didn't have to watch her die after being put on life support. There will be a memorial service sometime in the near future for Jill, and we will drive down to Savannah for that.
