At Flamingo Campground in the Everglades National Park, we did a lot of bike riding and hiking. Yesterday we did a kayak trip up the Flamingo Canal to Coot Bay, kayaking through the mangroves that line the canal. We did not encounter any alligators or crocodiles, but did see several species of birds. It was a trip of about 7 miles and took 3 1/4 hrs to do, especially since we had to deal with boat traffic and canoers who cannot steer a canoe to save their lives.
