January 11

Yesterday was a cold and somewhat rainy day. We hung out in the RV, except for Gus walks several times throughout the day.

Today is much nicer with blue skies prevailing. It is still chilly, with the temperature barely making it to 60 and windy.  We took a drive up to Amelia Island and Fernandino Beach via the ferry at Mayport. Cost is $7 each way with a car and the ride taking less than 10 minutes. It saves about 30 minutes of driving each way.  There were very few people out on the beaches because of the wind and cool Temps, but the birds were happy to occupy the area.
We were the lasts ones on going over and the first ones on coming back.

On the way back to camp we stopped at Safe Harbor Seafood Market and picked up some shrimp, smoked salmon dip, smoked fish dip, and some crab chowder. The crab meat was only claws, and priced at $24 a pound, actually not bad, but we decided to wait on that.
