FEB 24-26- GOOD TIMES!

We have been enjoying our time with Jerry & Heidi. Heidi and I have taken Gus and Bonnie on long walks. Jerry & Heidi took Bonnie for a ride in a cart behind Jerry's bike.

On our walks we have seen alligators and turtles. The alligators are often hard to see but the turtles have been sunbathing.

There are shared dinners, each taking turns with the cooking, and evenings in front of the fire.

We went down to check out the fully restored fishing peer and took a drive to Fort Morgan , topped off by sharing a pizza.

AT Fort Morgan we saw 4 or 5 oil wells in Mobile Bay.

FEB 22- 23

We spent the past 2 days hanging out with Jerry & Heidi. Heidi and I took the dogs for long walks together.

They get along fine on the walks. Gus likes to be in the lead and Bonnie likes to walk between me and Heidi unless there's a squirrel around.

It rained all day yesterday. Heidi and I went to the grocery store in the morning. We all go together in the afternoon in their trailer for a variety of games and dinner. We have been taking turns fixing dinner which is great!

FEB 21 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

74 feels no different than 73. I received a video chat from Mark & Lori, who will be joining us in less than a week. I also received lots of text messages and Facebook wishes...so sweet!!!

The four of us, Jim, Jerry & Heidi, and I drove to Mobile to tour the USS Arizona battleship and the USS Drum submarine as well as wandering among some of the planes, tanks, and trucks on display.

LUNCH - Jim and I shared a pot belly po boy, and Jerry & Heidi did the same. Half a sandwich was plenty!!! The picture is of my half!

We then took a tour of the submarine. Climbing through the many doorways, making ourselves twist like a pretzel got old pretty quick. I could never live on a sub!

Here are a few photos of the other things we saw there.

We enjoyed dinner tonight at Doc's Seafood Restaurant. Jerry & Heidi had never been there but they fell in love with the place. We ate too much, even sharing dinner. To top it off the wairess brought me a piece of Key lime pie for dessert and I shared it with the table. Everyone took at least a bite.

FEB 20

Jerry & Heidi are settled in. They joined us for a chili dinner last night, and we will join them for dinner tonight.

The guys spent a good part of the day installing the convection microwave oven Jerry brought with them. It is smaller than the one we had but seems to work just fine. I tested it out by baking some brownies I had mixed up a few days ago and stored in the refrigerator.
