The rest area just before the Missouri River is where we found this Indian statue, as well as great views of the river. It is called the Dignity Sculpture of Earth and Sky, is 50 ft tall, and shows her wearing a quilt with 128 stainless steel blue diamond shapes that appear to flutter in the wind. I imagine it is even more beautiful at night, when lights give it a special glow. The artist is Dale Lamphere, and a family in Rapid City gifted it to this spot near the Missouri River.
