This was a full day spent in Green Bay at the Packers stadium. We took a 90 minute tour of the stadium, even going up to the upper levels to see how the lucky ones get to enjoy a game. There were small suites and larger suites, all in out of the weather, and with access to unlimited food and nonalcoholic drinks, plus a cash bar. After being up on top, we were taken down to the locker room area and walked through the tunnel out onto the field, and finally back to the beautiful atrium where we began the tour.
Lunch was next on the agenda, right in the building at a new restaurant called 1918. Then we were off to tour the Hall of Fame where the Lombardi trophy, a Superbowl ring and other memorabilia are displayed.
Today was one of the last open days of practice for the Packers, so we walked across the street to try and catch a little of that. On our way we watched as football players coming out of the locker room were met by kids with bicycles. The player gave the kid his helmet to carry and rode the bike next to the child all the way to the practice field.
Pat was hoping to get an autograph from Aaron Rodgers, but the players were not giving out autographs except to kids 12 and under. We did get to see Mr Rodgers in practice, throwing some passes though. After watching them practice for a little while we headed to the gift shop to buy a cheese head for Pat, topping off the day. Then we headed back to Milwaukee with a quick stop at Costco.
