Last night Jim and I went up to the little theater that is part of the resort here to watch Stagecoach starring John Wayne. Some of the movie was filmed here in Monument Valley in 1939. We managed to get through about a third of the movie before giving up. The sound was poor so our old age hearing struggled to understand what was being said. I found out that we can watch the movie at home on Prime Video so we will do that. There is also a museum near the theater and John Wayne's cabin from his time filming a movie here.
The story began with a 5-week journey in a 1997 RV, from Richmond, Va to Utah and back, July 23 through August 27, 2011. The next step included the sale of that RV and the purchase of a larger, classier RV we call Princess. And so our adventures continue.

Day 36 - On the Move Again
This morning was our last in this beautiful location. Gouldings RV Resort does a great job of taking care of its guests. Gus and I took our last potty walk on dusty and sand soil. He misses GRASS! Hopefully he will have some at our next stop, Riverwood RV Park in Mancos, CO. Before leaving I finally took some photos of the campground we have been staying in.
On our drive east through Navajo land, we stopped at Four Corners, where 4 states meet...Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. Someone was kind enough to take our picture on the SPOT.
The rest of the drive to our campground was good although the road was a bit rough in places...very bouncy! As we approached Cortez we saw the Ute Mountains to our west and the beginning of Mesa Verde to our right. In the distance we can see the lower part of the Rockies. We stopped for fuel in Cortez where there is a Maverick station with RV Lanes. Then we headed a few more miles east to Mancos and our campground for the next 3 nights. Riverwood RV Park is only 2 years old and very nice! There is even some grass for Gus to do his thing.
