Today's drive was from Albuquerque to Amarillo, TX, a 300 mile drive, mostly on I-40. We started the drive in mountainous terrain and ended in very flat farm and ranch land. It started out with comfortable temperatures but ended with 90+ degrees this afternoon. Along the way we stopped for fuel, doggy "business", and to stretch our legs. I had to pull two burrs out of his paws...can't wait to get away from those! We saw lots of windmills, more than 600 to be more clear, and cattle pens with thousands of cattle. Finally we passed the Cadillac Ranch and knew we were close to our destination for the night, the Big Texan RV Ranch. We have reservations for a limo ride to the Big Texan Steak House later and are looking forward to that.
