Dogs are not supposed to be on the beach, but with no one around what's the harm. Today he had an audience of 6 as he ran in and out of the water for about 10 minutes. My arm is very tired and so is Gus!
It has been several years since we stayed here. I had forgotten how beautiful the park is even though it is at least 8 miles from most things like grocery stores, restaurants, etc. It is about 20 miles from the waterfront of Bradenton.
There is a boat launch and fishing peer, lots of trails to walk and bicycling to do. It's also nice to sit outside and read.
We have seen rabbits and squirrels every day, but today Gus and I got up close to a young gopher tortoise crossing the path we were on. There are many around the area but this was our first encounter.
