Happy First Day of Fall! We got an early start today after a fabulous breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, cinnamon rolls and turnovers.... 400 miles to Little Rock. Mike is in the copilot seat and I am sitting on the couch with Joanne where Gus usually lays when he is with us.
We crossed the beautiful Tennessee River about 2 hours into the drive on I-40.
Our next River crossing was the Mississippi River in Memphis near Mudd Island. Just before the river crossing we saw a new St Judes Childrens Hospital and a Danny Thomas Research Center.
Our fuel stop was just west of Memphis at a Kroger just off the interstate. We finally made it to Little Rock ARKANSAS and Downtown Riverdrive RV Park. It is a simple park along the Arkansas River.
Our day ended with an adventure. Former neighbors of Mike & Joanne, Robbie and Rita, picked us up in their pickup truck to take us out to eat at Cantina Laredo, https://www.cantinalaredo.com/location/little-rock/. The drive there was crazy, especially with 4 of us jammed into the back seat, and Rita not being sure of where she was going. Dinner was fun but also crazy since Rita talked a mile a minute and changed topics just as quickly. Then we still had to survive the drive home....thankfully we did.
Glad to be back safely at the campground, we enjoyed a few good River views before calling it a night.
