Yesterday we took the long drive to the western edge of the state where the Bonneville Salt Flats can be found. There they race cars & motorcycles at certain times of the year. Jim was there several years ago with Cliff Sheriff to race his car as a novice.
It is certainly very impressive...Pat and I got samples of the "salt" to take home with us.
When we left there we drove into Nevada, just to do it since it was only a few miles down the road, then came back into Utah at Westover to have lunch at an authentic Mexican Restaurant, thanks th Yelp. After a delicious lunch, we caught a little bit of an air show practice nearby, an extra treat for us, before making the long drive back "home". We did catch a picture of The Tree of Utah on the return drive.
