Our visit to Antelope Island included the ranch that was established in the 1800's and operated until the 1970's, when the Mormon Church gave it to the state for a park, along with the rest of the island. We talked with a "cowboy" who grew up in Pittsburgh and after high school went west to learn to be a cowboy. He works there now as a volunteer and had a lot of historical information to share. The ranch depicts the changing life of a rancher as electricity, autos, and other more "modern" conveniences became available.
