Going To Jail at Deer Lodge

We visited Deer Lodge, a small town northwest  of Butte. it is most famous for its prison in the late 1800's to the 1960's.  Our tour guide is a 4th or 5th generation citizen of Deer Lodge and he was filled with stories about the old prison. He took us on a tour that lasted more than 2 hrs, not because the prison is so large but because he had so many stories to tell.  After hearing his stories I was feeling sorry for the prisoners who had been incarcerated there for doing something stupid in their youth.
