Gus and I took our morning walk about 8 am, headed toward the other end of the campground. Halfway to the other end a police car came flying by followed by a fire truck. Soon we saw an ambulancias and an additional police car along with several rangers gathered in the same location in front of a motorhome. We kept our distance but later found out that a woman had been attacked by a pit bull belonging to another camper. She was taken to the hospital for stitches in her leg. Later Animal Control came and took the dog from its owner. The owner was also told to leave the park permanently. A lot of parks we stay at don't even allow pit bulls in the park. Understandable, when something like this happens.
The rest of the walk and the rest of our day was uneventful. Gus got in the water for a few minutes, and we visited friends in the campground who are volunteers here.
