Baddeck, Nova Scotia

Baddeck is a small town on the shore of Bras D'or Lake. The lake itself sits in the middle of Cape Breton and is quite expansive. There are lots of little shops, restaurants, B&Bs, and Inns in this small town.

There is also an Alexander Graham Bell Museum here which is part of the National Park system, so our park pass got us free entry to the museum.

I learned about the work Mr Bell did to teach deaf people to talk and his success with that program.  We also got to see the story of his telegraph, and telephone inventions, as well as the work he did with others on flight and hydrofoils.

He and his wife established a summer home outside Baddeck on the shores of the lake but the house is not open to visitors. It remains privately owned.
