It was a beautiful day today for a drive to Peggy's Cove. This is a place everyone who has visited Nova Scotia talks about. We were actually a little disappointed. There was so much traffic and so many buses that it was a challenge just to get a parking space and then having to deal with the crowds of people. We took Gus with us but should probably have left him in the RV. On the upside, it is a quaint seaside town with beautiful views of the village, the rocks, the lighthouse and the coastline. We didn't try to get even an ice cream because of the long lines and after getting plenty of pics, we were happy to leave the crowds behind. The last photo in this group is an artist's carvings next to a museum of his works. His name is William departure, his carvings were done in granite and number 30 in all. They depict the story of Peggy's Cove andHis art museum was closed to the public today.
Just down the road from Peggy's Cove is the site of a Swissair plane crash that killed over 200 people. The view back toward Penny's Cove is terrific so I took some photos from this site.
Continuing on the coastal trail, we drove through several more fishing villages.
This house was well worth getting a photo of. I dont know if Ivan Fraser the Storyteller actually lives here, but the artwork on display on the house and in front of the house were definitely eye catching.
