We arrived safely at Dunromin Campground just outside of Annapolis Royal and about 20 miles from Digby, NS. The folks in the office are very helpful. As we drove to our site, we passed Woody reminding us of the speed limit.
We also passed a Turtle Crossing sign, so someone has a creative sense of humor. The campground is sufficient for our needs, but if we want to use their showers it will cost us a few Canadian coins. We are situated right next to the Annapolis River that feeds into The Bay of Fundy. The tide is low this afternoon so the pictures will show that. I will try to capture some high and low tides in the same locations over the next few days.
After we got settled and Gus had been out for a good walk, Jim and I decided to take a drive along the shore roads. We saw the ferry from St John's coming in to dock at Digby at the same time a very small boat was motoring by in the shallow waters.
We also found a terrific seafood market on the shore of the bay called Nautical Seafoods (https://nauticalseafoods.com). We bought fresh scallops, haddock, and seafood chowder, all to enjoy over the next week or so. Tonight's meal was the chowder and pan seared scallops...YUMMM!
