Success on both counts.
The next stop was Devil's Tower, about 90 minutes away. Once there we walked the 1.3 mile trail all the way around the tower, seeing two climbers on their way down from the top.
When we left Devil's Tower, we stopped at a small restaurant just a few miles down the road for lunch called Devil's Tower View. They had great burgers, sandwiches, and wings, and very friendly service. Everyone left there with full tummies and one last View of the Tower, and Mary left with a piece of pie as well.
When we got back to the campground we had about 45 minutes before it was time to head out again, this time to Deadwood to catch the reenactment of the shooting of Wild Bill Hickok, and the capture and trial of his killer, Jack McCall. There was time in between to catch dinner at the Nugget Saloon. Everyone had pizza and drinks for dinner.
The "trial" was a humorous take on the actual trial, using kids from the audience as the jury, and a few adults from the audience as witnesses.
