This morning we said goodbye and safe travel to Mike & Joanne. They were headed back to Denver, then on to Pensacola tomorrow via Southwest Airlines. Thankfully Pensacola did not appear to have sustained any damage from Hurricane Ida. Since Mary & Paul are in Washington, Utah for a few days visiting friends, we are on our own for a few days.
About 10 am we headed out for a drive along the Colorado River, Gus included for a change. The views were incredible, such a picturesque drive. We stopped at the "beach" along the river but did not let Gus in the water as that would have made a mess in the car. We finally turned around when we got to the remnants of the original bridge across the river at about 25 miles out. The bridge was destroyed by a wildfire started by campers in 2008. The "new" bridge, built in 1986, was not damaged by the fires.
We returned home for lunch a little after 1 pm, and took time to relax, finish up laundry in the rv, and finally run to the liquor store and the grocery store for supplies. Our next stop will not have much in the way of supplies so we stocked up and are good for at least 10 days. Of course if we eat out it will last even longer.
