We then drove to Lead, a gold mining town up until about 2003. First we visited the visitors center where the actual mining took place and then we visited a mining museum where they gave a tour of a reconstructed "gold mine".
After the tour we found a small restaurant, Sled Haus, that served authentic German food- Brats, sauerkraut, and German potatoes. Each couple shared a plate loaded with these items and had more than enough to eat.
We headed back toward the campground but made a stop in Deadwood at an Indian Motorcycle Restoration Shop, and then in Sturgis for Hoodies and t-shirts for some in the group.
The rest of the afternoon we just hung out and then enjoyed grilled steak and tossed salad for dinner.
