Today, after good breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, the group drove into town to Temple Square. We first got a tour of the complex led by two young ladies who are doing 2 years of service to the church. They were delightful and truly enjoy what they are doing. They took us into the Assembly Hall, the Tabernacle where the choir and organisms practice, and we got to hear a 30 minute organ recital by one of the 5 regular organisms. After lunch at the Blue Lemon, we spent about an hour in the Geneology Bldg checking our genealogies, then visited the History Museum and finally the Conference Center which seats 11,000 people and has another beautiful organ. The temple is under renovation and is not expected to reopen until 2025. It was a very interesting day, perhaps leaving us with more questions than answers.
Our evening was relaxing, enjoying coctailsspaghetti and meatballs made from scratch by Joanne for all of us.
