We enjoyed a leisurely morning discussing grocery items needed, etc. In the process we were trying to remember the ingredients to a drink we had in Oatmam. Joanne called it mule piss but the bar called it donkey pee....so we got some good laughs over that.
The guys had seen a little bit of the area last night when they picked up a pizza for dinner. Joanne and I had not been out yet so we all drove into Palm Springs just to see what the "downtown" area looked like. There are shops and restaurants galore. Much of the outdoor restaurant seating is accompanied by fine mists of water to help people stay cool in the 100 + degree heat.
This afternoon we all went into the pool for a refreshing splash...the temperature was now up to 103°. Jim enjoyed the hot tub as well so Mike and Joanne checked it out too. I was content with the coolness of the pool water.
It us nice having a day where we do not need to be anywhere or do anything. We are enjoying just hanging out, watching some football and reading. Tonight we will cook steaks on the gas grill outside, fix a salad, have some cocktails and just relax.
