We enjoyed a leisurely morning waiting for the winds to die down and the dust to settled over the entire valley. Early this afternoon we drove to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway for an incredible ride up to the top of Mt San Jacinto. The floor of the tram slowly rotated as we made the climb over 4 towers before docking at the top. Everyone got views from every side as we climbed, while we listened to an informative talk about the tram and the mountain. Up at the top there are a few restaurants, one very expensive and the other a grab and go assortment of sandwiches, pizza, and drinks. We passed on the food in favor of enjoying dinner back at our suite of rooms. We did enjoy two short movies about the construction of the tram and about the sights in the park surrounding the peak. This was definitely worth the price and the journey! It was also a great way to beat the heat with temps in the 60s and 70s at the top.
